Bamboo Roll Up Blinds
Bamboo roll up blinds have been around for a long time. They are good for almost any surrounding and can add a warmth and natural feel to your house or patio room. One of the best things about bamboo roll up blinds is their simplicity. Bamboo roll up blinds are little more than a sheet of bamboo rods or strips that are tied together side by side with a string attached to the bottom, hung above a window. There are no parts or gadgets to go with them. Bamboo blinds are great for blocking out the sun because bamboo is a very thick, very dense material. Bamboo is also a great insulator if it if tied together tight enough and provides great privacy.
Is Bamboo Too Heavy
The answer to that is no. Bamboo is a very strong and pretty durable material renowned throughout the world for its strength. For this reason it does not take a lot of bamboo to make a sturdy roll up blind or any other type of blinds for that matter. Bamboo is a very fibrous material and if you cut it horizontally across you can see this. It will look like a lot of little strands bunched together. This means it can take a lot of horizontal force. Luckily, bamboo can only be cut into strips one way. This makes for very strong rods.
Bamboo Styles
There are varies ways the curtain can be made. One of them is by cutting the bamboo into rounded strips and making what is called "matchstick" blinds. The bamboo can also be tied together loosely or farther apart to make bamboo shades. The bamboo for the blinds can also be cut into slats. Bamboo will give a very distinctive look here as when it grows it grows in sections and this will show very well in bamboo slat blinds. The blinds can also be woven, if the bamboo is cut thin enough or it can be cut to different sizes to make different patter. However there is one thing that can't be done, and that is to have uncut bamboo. By the time bamboo gets to be the proper length and strength it is too thick to be made into blinds.
