Electric Blinds

Electric Blinds

Welcome to the 21st century!  Electric blinds can be the ultimate accessory for the home or an absolute necessity for your larger unreachable windows.  Electric blinds can add a lot of value to your home and can be installed in as little as a day.
There are many different kinds of electric blinds.  Most are built into the house and are wired through the wall and are controlled via a remote control or a switch on the wall.  This may end up costing more and taking more time to install, so for those of you who just need the convenience of electric blinds there are a variety of electric blinds that can be plugged into the nearest outlet.

How Electric Blinds work

Electric blinds are very simple.  An electric motor is installed near the top or side of a window.  From there the motor is either directly attached to the blinds or attached to a string to pull the blinds.  These motors are not very big and consume very little energy.  The motors, on average, take up less that one to two 120v light bulbs and can operate with any type of curtains including vertical and horizontal slat blinds, roman blind, venetian blinds and ever curtains.

How Fast Can Electric Blinds Open?

It is true that electric blinds tend to open more slower that a person could open them.  This is to avoid unnecessary strain on the motor and cords used to open the curtains to ensure that they last as long as they can.  However, in the case of larger windows and higher windows It may very well be faster than opening the blinds by yourself.  Electric blinds however are more about the convenience...  Especially when it comes to opening multiple blinds at once.  Electric Blinds can be set up to open several at a time via remote or wall switch.  This is great for a large room with many windows and may be a necessity for any large room if there were to be blinds put in.
