Sun Blinds
Sun blinds are made specifically for blocking out the sun. It is kind of the opposite purpose of black out blinds. Black out blinds are most famous for keeping the light in and letting no light out, as was the case during the world wars. Sun blinds are made for keeping light out. One perfect example of keeping light out is in a car. Sun blinds can be used to keep the sun light out. The reason for this is that when the sun light enters your car your car acts like an insulator. It keeps the heat in, but it also has windows to more light is allowed in. The temperature in a car without sun blinds can easily reach 116 degrees fahrenheit and the dashboard can get even hotter.
Now this is not quit the case with homes, they are much larger and have less window space, but the sun can heat up your house.
Sun Blinds are great during the summer when the sun is directly above you. The heat from the sun can be devastating and can cause such things as heat stroke, dehydration and many other things. Not all windows or houses will need sun blinds though, but for sun roofs and things that let a lot of light in and offer no cooling, it may be best to cover them and block out as much sun as possible.
Sun Blinds Are Great Energy Savers
Whether it is in a car or a home, sun blinds can save you money on your next energy or gas bill. The reason is that the sun heat up both of these things and it takes a lot to counter the suns heat. In a car it may be air conditioning or lowering gas milage by driving with the window ope.n. In your home it might be air conditioning, central air conditioning and fans. The heat also has a negative affect on electronics because the hotter the metal in electronics get the less efficient they become and all electronics are cooled by a fan. So unless you want to fan yourself and your electronics, you're going to have to either get some sun blinds to help or turn on the air conditioning.
