Venetian Window Blinds

Venetian Window Blinds

Venetian blinds are not like normal blinds or shades. Venetian window blinds are a very old style of blinds. They work with ropes and cords and a few other things. Another main element of the venetian blind is the slat. The slats are the things that actually block the sun light.

The sunlight must be considered when making venetian window blinds. The blind's slats can be curved. This curvature can help reduce sunlight if utilized properly. To reduce the sunlight properly, you mush use one of the cables. The cables adjust the slats angle so that the slats line up properly to block the light.

The slats on the blinds can be made out of plastics. The plastic is normally tough but flexible. The slats can also be made out of a cardboard or wood. The wooden slats are more fragile, especially the thinner slats.

Venetian window blinds also have an up and down element to them. In addition the being able to rotate the slats you can move them up and down the window for complete openness. This is normally done with a separate rope or cord and is an entirely different function.

Venetian blinds can be found in most homes covering windows from top to bottom and bottom to top. They are relatively cheap and pretty effective. If you are a night person you may want to get blinds with thicker slats to block out more sun light because the slats are normally thin and let some light through. For all the other need venetian blinds should work just fine.
